Meet The Team

Sportlink is run by runners, for runners. We have many years of experience between us and always happy to talk running with you.

  • Mark Thorpe

    Assistant Manager

Having  previously run at club level. Mark returned to running  in later life and currently runs with Norfolk Gazelles as well as being part of the coaching team. His love of running shoes far outweighs his ability these days. Although he has recently discovered a love for marathons.

  • Adie Grand

Sportlink Events Manager and Team Member

Adie has been running seriously since the mid-1990s (god he's tired!) and is now an honorary member of Norwich Road Runners. He is also a founder member and coach of The Braydeston Milers which during the last few years has become a very popular and local fun challenge for so many athletes wishing to test themselves over this classic distance.

  • Karen Hamilton

    Sportlink Team

Karen has been interested in fitness since her early teens and qualified as a fitness instructor in her twenties. Later working as a Primary School teacher, she was responsible for the delivery of the P.E. curriculum within the school (fantastic as she got to wear running shoes for work)! More recently having rediscovered the joy of running she now can’t
    imagine a world without it.

  • Angie Bear

    Sportlink Team

Angie has been a keen runner for 25 years, mostly with Wymondham AC. Her initial aim when she started running was to run the London Marathon and she counts herself fortunate enough to have run it nine times! She is still a keen runner although the distances are getting shorter. Angie really enjoys passing on her experiences and passion for running.

  • Heidi Bacon

    Sportlink Team

I started running in 2017 because we rescued a husky cross, and it was very apparent she needed to run, so we took up Canicross. I run solo too, mostly trail, half marathon being my favourite distance. In 2022 I got persuaded to try triathlon which I love for the variety of training.

  • Neil Stavely

    Sportlink Team

Neil took up running in 2015 when he entered the East Coast 10k to raise money for charity. Although it wasn’t an instant love affair with running he soon caught the running bug after trying trail running and hasn’t stopped since.

He is a qualified ultramarathon coach, and has raced in ultras all over the world ranging from 50k to 100 miles, as well as several charity runs, including from Switzerland back to Dereham.
